How To Know If Your Pet Is Your Spirit Guide
Can your pet be your spirit guide?
Pets and humans have long shared emotional bonds and relationships.
These relationships are usually mutually beneficial, with humans and animals offering something of value to the other - be it food, companionship or sometimes even income that they provide to each other.
Cats and dogs can be spiritual allies to humans, in addition to being fun companions in the home.
In traditional spiritual cultures, this is called having a “familiar.”
Familiars are tag-along spiritual allied beings found around magical people. They are the embodied form of a spiritual being - a reincarnated friend from a past life, a spirit guide or an appointed ancestral guardian.
A now-in-Spirit relative of mine believed when he was here on Earth that cats could be guardians from other lives and even loved ones reincarnated into their bodies. He asked the last time he visited who I thought my cat “really was.”
If you follow Buddhist principles of reincarnation, cats, dogs and others can be spiritual beings reincarnated and this can be true for any pet that finds their way into our lives.
So how do you know if your pet living here today or now-in-Spirit is your Spirit Guide?
A few signs are -
You can tell what they need before they speak or paw at you for it (or you could tell this when they were living)
They have visited you in dreams or have come forward in meditations to you or others
You had a strong feeling/attraction about them that they were meant to be with you as they were coming into your life
They can identify the moments when you need support without you indicating it externally and they specifically find you to be with you during those times (or they did this when living)
They made an impact on others in your soul group (others think fondly of them, can easily identify or notice their persona, speak to them as though they are a person), this is a sign they are part of your soul group
These are just a few of the signs a pet can be a Spirit Guide or Guardian, also known as a Familiar, to you.
Keep in mind that while a pet can be your Spirit Guide, you can also be theirs.
Oftentimes in mutually bonded relationships, each party can serve in some way as a “spirit guardian” for the other.
As much as you may appreciate your pet’s spiritual connection with you, it can go both ways in terms of appreciating the value of the relationship.
