How To Become A Seasoned Intuitive
Updated 2020.09.06
When does psychic maturity happen? The amount of readings, spirit encounters or interactions with clients it takes to step into this state of blossom varies, and in this post I discuss.
Connecting with others in the reading space is something I consider sacred.
I consider the work I do serious, but I also enjoy it.
I don't recommend getting a reading simply to entertain, though connecting with Spirit and with the ethers in psychic readings, can be entertaining.
When I first started giving readings, I started out by telling myself it was just practicing for fun.
I was practicing for myself, to see if my abilities to see Spirits were actually helpful and worth something. And I was practicing with others, to see if they could receive meaningful information from The Spirit World through me.
In all honesty, my first foray into readings was an experiment in vulnerability. For most people who decide to share their gifts from Spirit, it is natural to feel unsure for the first hundred clients, or even the first couple of years.
This maturing and owning your gifts process is something that happens with all intuitive, medium, and psychic readers.
Many mediums eventually become seasoned to their work, though.
Becoming seasoned psychic usually means
You've done enough readings to have a firm ethical standard for serving others
You're connected with Spirit enough times that you have seen proof and believe in the messages yourself
You have embodied knowledge and wisdom from taking the guidance you offer your clients and loved ones
To become a seasoned psychic or medium is the process of becoming more definite in your path and spiritual practice. It also means you have a strong ability to handle those who are still uncomfortable and owning their journey.
You become seasoned when you embody the truth that while Spirit connection can be fun, it's truly an intimate encounter not to be taken lightly.
In reading, there is an intercourse of energy that occurs in the energetic connecting between medium, client, and Spirit.
To perform a reading, you must blend together energy, emotions, thoughts. You discuss and reveal deep-seated fears, worries, and long-standing secretive issues.
The spiritual development you receive through the care and honor of transmitting psychic energy can be the fastest track to spiritual growth because it transforms your emotions and thoughts back to ease, so it seasons you.
Having practiced and getting comfortable managing this energy means you are seasoned. It happens for some over 25 practice readings. For some, up to seven years, the average time it takes to embody any significant, new spiritual concept in your life.
When does psychic maturity, known as seasoning, happen?
The amount of readings, Spirit encounters, or interactions with clients it takes to step into this state of reading maturity takes time and varies for all of us.
For most, it takes at least one year of work and a minimum of 100-150 psychic connections or practices. It tends to just drop on you one day, and there is an actual realization that connecting to Spirit is much more than just a fun, awe-inspiring thing. It's a sacred experience.
Seasoning is the embodiment of your work.
When you are seasoned in your practice, you begin to practice what you preach and walk the talk, more and more, and you begin to embrace a more profound commitment to your work.
Being with others and holding the space for someone in one of their most vulnerable life experiences is an honor.
Because of this, mediumship is a sensitive connection filled with vulnerability for everyone involved, each time it happens. It requires confidentiality, trust, and total communication. It's definitely a union of the most intimate kind.
It will grow you spiritually, season you by adding to your wealth of wisdom, and develop you in maturity, the longer you go on.
So how do you know you're seasoned?
When you feel comfortable in your work and in your skin, and you have the confidence you are in union with your work, you are.
Seasoning as a psychic or medium is also a sign of growing spiritual maturity. When you gain practice and confidence with your gifts, this often means you are matured spiritually, too.

I write about the stages of spiritual growth in this post, and these can also be cues as to how well seasoned you're becoming as a lightworker.
You can generally increase how quickly you become acquainted with your gifts by performing readings, or sharing your abilities with as many others as possible.
Usually, once here, you may feel called to deepen your connection or develop an area of your gifts, such as increasing your marketing for your abilities.
