Karmic bonds usually arise to balance our energy and show us our power, so both parties often have spiritual work to do once they are complete.

Focusing on your work, using the steps below, usually facilitates the whole process of ending a karmic relationship on your side, meaning that you will be done with this type of relationship pattern, at least in this lifetime.

Do you have an incomplete relationship? Or a bond that you have with someone that feels like it didn't get the closure you needed?

If so, you may be involved in a karmic bond.

The relationships that affect us spiritually are often the ones with whom we share soul bonds, these are often called karmic relationships, or karmic bonds.

Karmic bonds are a type of relationship bond that represents eternal love. Their main difference between these and other kinds of spiritual bonds is that they are romantic and typically more short-lived types of relationships - at least in this incarnation.

A karmic bond is any relationship where two parties come together for growth and evolution, usually in a romantic partnership, and typically these relationships last less than five years.

They are relationships that are divinely aligned, but they are not relationships meant to exist forever.

They can exist platonically but are often romantic.

You can tell you have entered or been in a karmic bond if you notice these signs:

  • The relationship felt hot and heavy when it began

  • It involved a power struggle

  • The connection felt like it existed with an imbalance in any area - level of trust, level of respect, level of love-giving

  • The meeting of your karmic partner felt like it was fate

Why do karmic relationships happen

The purpose of karmic relationships is to smooth over the scales of Justice between you and a soulmate that you may have shared a past pattern or incarnation with.

A karmic bond can help you heal a relationship with past relationship patterns you had, areas of belief about yourself, a shadow side, or even help you bring out individual gifts and talents you have stored within.

They are usually relationships that promote soul growth on either end.

Usually, a karmic bond helps you balance your energy while the other person balances theirs. Both parties depart when the job is complete, knowing they are both better for the relationship many years later.

Karmic bonds usually have a quick peak, then a power struggle, and then a fissure or fall. The power struggle, or the period of rebalancing, can occasionally last a couple of years, depending on how deep the bond.

In most cases, the karmic bond falls apart, fissures out, on its own, but in some cases, a person will stay connected to a karmic bond well after the physical relationship is complete.

If this sounds like the situation you are in, read on for steps below on how to release a karmic bond -

How to release karmic bonds

#1 Give Less Energy

You are an energy generator.

Think about yourself as Grandfather Winter or Goddess Pele, you can blow heat or ice on something, or recoil and fan the flames elsewhere.

A karmic bond is a relationship activated by energy, so the more power you give to it, the longer it lingers.

As much as you can, when ending a karmic bond, avoid thinking about the relationship or person, and when they pop in, direct your mind-body-spirit attention elsewhere. This prevents re-cording the relationship ties through thought energy-connection.

#2 Cut Your Cords

Practice Cord Cutting.

Anything you feel could be in a karmic bond or be affected by one, through entanglement. If what you feel in the relationship, affects your ability to focus, visualize yourself cutting cords with it.

Anytime after you think about the relationship, or are distressed with it, is a good time to visualize the tethers of the relationship being released from your aura.

Most people find that practicing cord-cutting, every day, up to 21 days, effectively releases a karmic bond to someone and, at the very least, reduces the strength of it in your energy field, giving the soul more freedom to move.

#3 Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil

As much as you can do this, do.

When you think, speak or consider a person or thing, it psychically activates a seed of their energy within you, and those in your soulmate group who feel it most.

Your karmic partner may sense you thinking of it, them or the relationship, reactivating a karmic bond you are attempting to release.

Some people can sense when others are talking about them, especially when bound through quantum entanglement. Usually, karmic partners are part of your soul group, so they may detect when you activate their energy.

Talking about someone is called "dialing up someone's energy" in the supernatural world, and yes, some are sensitive to people speculating about them or "peeking" on their energy.

The more you keep your thoughts and words positive and on other topics besides the bond, the less likely you are to reactivate the bond, letting it release.

The longer you go without speaking, feeling, or considering the bond, the weaker the karmic ties become - and the more and more the other party can move on too without being on edge with their energy getting dialed up all the time.

#4 Work On Your Better

Most people become better people as a result of what they learned in a karmic bond, but there still remains focus on what the other party needs to do to improve.

Because the karmic bond is ending by the time you read this article, know it is no longer your job to focus on your karmic partner's issues or flaws, the ways in which they need to be a better person.

All you can do is focus on your own growth and what the bond showed you.

So to release an old karmic bond, one of the best things you can do is focus on becoming the best, most evolved version of yourself. The point of a karmic relationship is to release, reveal, and heal all that is not you, so when one ends, often the actual spiritual work begins.

All you can control is your end of how you become a better you post karmic bond, the creative way you take the wisdom gained from the teaching of the relationship, and become a better you is one of the best parts of post-karmic relationship life.

Then, the faster you align with your highest self, usually, the more quickly your karmic bonded partner will go do the same, energetically seeing that you are following the soul contract you both agreed to, and release themselves from you naturally.

In other words, this step is all about focusing on your "glow up," increasing your soul's radiance, and integrating all that you were taught in this soul relationship.

A few commonly asked questions about karmic bonds

Can karmic relationships turn into soulmates?

Because a karmic relationship is often a soulmate bond from a past incarnation, some karmic relationships become long-term soulmate relationships again in this lifetime.

For this to happen, both parties work on what was uncovered during the first part of the relationship. Since karmic bonds focus on burning off karma, lots of forgiveness may be needed from previous eras on both sides.

Generally, both parties will need more space and respect during this part of the relationship, before coming fully together and acknowledging they are soulmates.

How long do karmic relationships last?

A karmic relationship generally lasts no more than 5 years, often between 6 mo - 2 years, or enough time to go through a spiritual transformation in full, usually around 18 months. They can last longer if both parties desire it.

Can karmic relationships change?

In the majority of cases, patterns are revealed so they can be healed in karmic relationships.
If both parties see the healing as helpful and not a threat, the karmic bond can evolve into a life partner soulmate, as mentioned above.

Typically, in a karmic relationship, lots of energy is generated, repelling one or two parties, and they then separate from rebalancing.

Karmic relationships' purpose is to initiate this rebalancing, and many souls prefer to recalibrate their energy on their own in total freedom.

While most karmic bonds end chaotically and usually involve separation, and ultimately mutual respect, change can happen. Still, it can take many years and appear in a completely different form when it does.

Are karmic relationships one-sided?

Usually not. Most karmic bonds are bonds that exist because both parties were attracted to and needed what the relationship was offering, which was a way to heal past karma so the soul could be freer.

For this reason, karmic relationships are typically two-sided. The attraction and desire for the soul growth the karmic relationship offered are often mutual.

Do you live for eternity with a Karmic Bond Partner?

Yes. They are part of your soul group so eventually, when you transition, you would join your soulmate in The Spirit World, then again in another lifetime, though the relationship may take another form.

Because total soul freedom exists, and karmic bonds are love bonds, if a karmic partner crosses over, and this person then goes on to have another soulmate bond in another life, they may still connect with you in The Spirit World because you all may be in the same soul group.

So to recap, four ways to release a karmic bond are

#1

Give less, redirect your energy

#2

Practice cord-cutting

#3

Hear no evil, speak no evil

#4

Work on healing and becoming your best self

By redirecting your energy, practicing good energy hygiene, avoiding re-entanglement through thought energy, and working on your better, you can fully release a karmic bond and step entirely into your power, home zone energy.

Though some end, there are many benefits to karmic bonds.

They offer us a chance to cleanse and reflect on love, they offer us an opportunity for soul work, and they help us define our wants and wishes, sometimes by showing us what they aren't.

Some people find that by redirecting their energy towards attracting a new bond, they release the old connection, and this can work and is part of step one. If this is part of the answer for you, this is entirely okay and supported by the Universe.
